What Are Snap-In Implant Dentures?

Snap-In Implant Dentures are dentures that are specifically tailored to fit your mouth and securely attach to the dental implants that your dentist has placed. This cutting-edge solution provides a range of benefits, such as:

Enhance your dining experience | Dental implants can significantly improve your dining experience by providing enhanced stability and confidence when wearing dentures.

Non-removable dentures, also known as fixed dentures, provide a secure and permanent solution for tooth replacement. Unlike removable dentures, these dentures are firmly attached to the mouth and cannot be taken out.

Feel assured in your smile and laughter, with the knowledge that your dentures are firmly secured.

Improve your comfort with dentures that offer decreased movement, minimal rubbing, and chafing.

Specifically created for patients with insufficient bone structure for traditional implants, this innovative product fulfills the minimum bone requirement.

Prevent bone loss: Dental implants play a crucial role in preventing bone loss by stimulating ongoing bone production in the jaw. This beneficial effect persists even after tooth extraction.

Minimize or eradicate gagging: In certain cases, a section of the palate may be surgically removed, revealing the roof of the mouth. This intervention effectively reduces or eliminates the unpleasant sensation of gagging that can be triggered by wearing dentures.

Dental implants offer improved comfort by reducing or eliminating the discomfort caused by denture movement.

Enhance Taste: Partial Palate Removal for Improved Taste Sensation In certain cases, individuals with dental implants may be offered the opportunity to undergo a partial removal of the palate in their upper denture. This procedure can significantly improve their ability to taste and savor food.

Snap-In Implant Dentures vs. Traditional Dentures

Chewing ability is significantly reduced | The lower denture's lack of stability hampers chewing strength, typically achieving only 10-20% of the natural teeth's effectiveness. The continuous movements of the tongue and cheeks constantly disturb the lower denture's stability.

Speaking can be difficult due to the movement of lower dentures.

Traditional dentures frequently lead to discomfort and gum irritation as they have a tendency to shift, particularly the lower dentures.

Speaking can be challenging because of the mobility of the lower denture.

Poor nutrition can lead to a loss of chewing ability, making it difficult for patients to consume a balanced diet and properly digest food.

Bone loss is a prevalent issue that occurs following tooth extraction and persists throughout an individual's lifetime. Consequently, the use of conventional dentures becomes increasingly challenging as time goes on.

Gagging is a prevalent problem experienced by many people due to the conventional upper denture that covers the palate. While this denture provides suction and stability, modifying it to address gagging can result in decreased stability and the absence of natural suction.

Snap-In Implant Dentures are a remarkable solution for addressing and greatly enhancing these concerns.

Am I a Candidate?

The majority of patients are eligible! A short consultation will be necessary to verify. In this appointment, we will take a 3D scan of your jawbones, the dentist will perform an oral examination, and they will carefully go through your medical history with you.

How Many Implants Will I Need?

Upper | A minimum of four implants is necessary for an upper implant denture.

Lower | While a lower implant denture can function with only 2 implants, the addition of 3 or 4 implants usually enhances retention and stability to a great extent.

Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure stability, an upper implant denture necessitates a minimum of 4 implants, while a lower implant denture requires at least 2 implants. Generally, the greater the number of implants, the more secure your denture will be. This is particularly crucial for the lower denture, where having three or four implants is typically superior to just 2.
At this time, we do not provide zirconia implants due to their recent introduction and uncertain long-term effectiveness. Our primary focus is on delivering the most successful and reliable outcomes for our patients, which is why we do not offer this particular implant option.

Snap-In Implant Dentures Procedure Timeline

Typically, the process typically takes around 6 months from start to finish on average.
1

Procedure

After extracting all teeth and conducting any necessary oral surgeries, the implants are placed into the jawbone. Following this, the implants typically blend in seamlessly. They will remain undisturbed in your jaw for at least 4 months, allowing your bone to fuse with them through a process called osseointegration.
2

Post Op

The process of restoring a smile requires careful and precise dental restoration techniques. In order to create a healthy foundation, teeth may need to be extracted. Implants are then inserted to ensure stability and longevity. Temporary bridges are used to provide support and functionality during the restoration process. On average, the entire procedure takes 4-7 hours, with a strong focus on patient comfort. After the procedure, we will schedule a brief post-operative visit for the following day. During this visit, we will assess your mouth, ensure that you are comfortable with your dentures, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Our ultimate goal is to provide you with a confident and long-lasting smile.
3

Soft Liners / Soft Re-Fittings

Soft liners are designed to provide comfort and support during the healing process of your denture. These cushions are placed periodically to fill in any gaps that may form between your gums and dentures as you heal. Additionally, they offer a cushioning effect for your gums, improving the overall fit and feel of your dentures.
4

Uncovery

This procedure involves a minor surgery in which we expose the implants and attach small healing abutments to shape your gums, preparing you for snap-in dentures.
5

Attachment of Implants to Dentures

We will exchange your healing abutments for denture abutments and carry out all necessary procedures to attach your dentures to implants. Usually, this procedure can be completed within a day, although in some cases, it may take a little longer.
